About the Product
The Discover Helios ESS (52-48-16000) is a 16kWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage system engineered for residential off-grid solar setups, whole-home backup applications, and microgrid installations.
What sets the Helios ESS battery apart in real-world conditions is its all-climate design. The IP65-rated, weather-resistant enclosure handles outdoor installation without compromise, while the built-in self-heating system activates automatically between -13°F and 46.4°F. This keeps cells in their safe operating range even through harsh winters.
Performance figures are equally strong. The system delivers 10kW of continuous power with up to 19kW peak for 10 seconds, backed by 93 MWh of lifetime energy throughput. The 4th-generation Battery Management System provides comprehensive overvoltage, overcurrent, and thermal protection. Moreover, the dual fire arrestors and emergency stop functionality support Rapid Shutdown (RSD) integration for code-compliant installations.
For installers, the quick-connect wall-mount bracket simplifies setup, and closed-loop CAN communication enables seamless integration with compatible hybrid and off-grid inverters, including Sol-Ark 15K hybrid inverter via a dedicated conduit box. As a scalable and flexible lithium battery system, the Helios ESS battery supports up to 48 kWh with battery to battery parallel installations, or up to 36 modules (579.6kWh) in parallel with closed-loop communication.
